LearnMe’s flexible, tailored approach to training began in 1999 when director Graeme Lynch realised that the traditional classroom learning environment could be superseded by a more user-friendly workplace training system. Graeme, a senior TAFE teacher who had been actively training since 1974, set about pioneering a company that could offer employers the benefits of cost-effective and up-to-the-minute onsite training for their workers conducted by skilled trainers and applied in a real world setting.
This approach proved to be a hit with both employers and students alike, especially those students who had previously experienced difficulties in the classroom and those with a preference for hands-on learning. Without the constraints of the group learning environment, students were able to accelerate over areas where they had existing skills and knowledge, thereby reducing the study time required to complete their qualification. Students were also able to received personalised attention and assistance from instructors in the topics that were less familiar to them, resulting in higher student completion rates and greater levels of customer satisfaction.
Whereas Graeme’s initial focus was on providing quality training solutions for the construction industry, LearnMe has since evolved to cater for a wider market segment including the vocational education and training industry, mining sector, and information technology arena. The company’s aim continues to be that of creating an enjoyable and supportive learning experience for each client by combining the most current and efficient training technologies and qualification pathways with outstanding customer service and personalised attention.
