The ICT10115 Certificate I in Information, Digital Media and Technology qualification consists of 6 units. The core units introduce basic IT training that teaches students how to operate a personal computer, operate word-processing applications, use the internet and digital devices. The remaining electives will equip you with highly sought-after office skills including the operation of spreadsheets and presentation packages.

ICTICT101 Operate a personal computer

In this unit you will learn how to use your computer, access files, use different applications, send and receive emails, use the internet, work with peripheral devices such as printers, manage your security settings and back up your data.

ICTICT102 Operate word-processing applications (Word 2013 Level 1)

Learn how to create and format documents, customise your page layout, insert images, make tables and print your document.

ICTICT103 Use, communicate and search securely on the internet

In this unit you will learn how to access the web, conduct email communications, use web browsers to search the internet, perform online transactions and interact with websites in a safe and responsible manner.

ICTICT104 Use digital devices

This unit covers the operation of digital devices to support home and business activities, including devices such as digital cameras, video cameras and smart phones and tablets.

ICTICT105 Operate spreadsheet applications (Excel 2013 Level 1)

Learn how to create spreadsheets, perform basic operations, format spreadsheets, integrate objects and charts, and print spreadsheets.

ICTICT106 Operate presentation packages (Power Point 2013 Level 1)
Discover how presentation packages can be used to enhance presentations. Learn slide design techniques, animations, transitions and more. A person who can create quality presentation is an asset to sales teams, managers and other administrative positions.

Skills Recognition

Do you already have skills in IT? If so, you could be holding a nationally recognised qualification.

Getting your IT certificate is easy and you can do it right from your desk. Using our proprietary online skills recognition tool, we can easily take you step by step through proving your skills without you having to leave your home or office.

They will ask you some questions to prove your knowledge on each subject, and then ask you to demonstrate your skills from your own computer. Recommend Requirements

  • A computer with Windows 7,8 or 10 with audio (headphones are recommended)
  • A printer
  • Microsoft Office 2010 or 2013 (recommended) or 2016. This includes Office365 users.
  • A broadband internet connection for downloading and uploading files
  • For your assessments you will need to complete various projects which will require you to access social media websites, install free software and record your screen using free screen recording software. If the software is blocked on your network you can use an alternative recording method such as using a smart phone to upload to YouTube for the assessments that require it.
  • Access to a digital device such as a smartphone
  • Access to a workplace
  • A digital still camera (A smart phone can be used but a dedicated camera is preferred)
  • A webcam
